After Puja
What Happens
This section shows a little of the life of the Buddhist community (sangha) in the Centre. We listen to two of the laity who tell us of their lives as Buddhists. We watch members of the sangha gather around the dining table and carry out everyday tasks like washing up.
We also learn of the move of the Buddhist Centre in early 2007, from the house in the Highfields area of Huddersfield to the former Baptist Church in Birkby, Huddersfield. There’s a lot to do to change the building from a Christian to a Buddhist place of worship and we see some of the tasks being carried out by members of the sangha.
Questions to Discuss from the Film:
- Buddhists believe that nothing in the world is permanent. How does this section show this?
- What in your life would you like to keep permanently?
- What would you be happy to change?
- What did the Buddhists say that their faith gave to them?
