Sikh Gurdwara Faith Centres - What happens here?

Guru Nanak Gurdwara

Fartown Sikh Guru Nanak Gurdwara is open to the public, seven days a week, 365 days of the year. It is open from 8.30am to 6.30pm. On Fridays the Akhand Path is started at 10am and concludes on Sundays at 12 noon.

The main hall where all ceremonies take place is open to all faiths for prayer and meditation. Everybody from all races, religions, caste and creed are greatly welcome.

The langar hall is open everyday and food is almost always available.

The only rules that you are required to follow in order to enter the grounds of the Sikh Temple are:

  • One must not have indulged in alcohol, or have in their possession any alcoholic substance.
  • No smoking or tobacco products are allowed on the premises.
  • Head covering must be worn at all times in the grounds of the Sikh temple.
  • You must remove your shoes before entering the main Prayer Hall.
